Small Fruit Berries
Berries need good soil, water and sunlight, but can do very well if taken care of properly. Raspberries Popular sweet red fruits, best grown upright. Blackberries Sweet when ripe, very similar to raspberries. Wild Raspberries These are often found along the edges of fields, and can be transplanted into your gardens. Strawberries These take two years to bear fruit, and tend to spread out year after year. Blueberries Blueberries need alkaline soil to grow well. They contain lots of great vitamins. Mulberries These multi-coloured fruit grow on trees, with either upright or weeping branches... decorative and sweet when ripe. Black and Red Currants These grow on bushes and are used mainly in cooking, baking, jams, jellies and juices. Rhubarb These are not berries but can be grown with and served with them.
